Hoffmann safety manager

Position Summary

Safety Manager should help coordinate the work activities of Hoffmann personnel, and any subcontractors, with the customer, or general contractor, to ensure that Hoffmann provides a safe working environment for all employees performing work under the scope of our contract. This would include ensuring all Hoffmann safety procedures are followed, as well as any additional safety requirements Hoffmann is contractually obligated to follow under the subcontract agreement with our customer or general contractor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform Job Safety Analysis, or JSA’s – describe the intended method for performing work, but also incorporate the element of safety into the work
  • Perform Job Hazard Analysis, or JHA’s- list all identified hazards of a specific task, and the protective measures that will be followed
  • Thorough investigation and documentation of accidents, injuries and safety infractions
  • Conduct weekly, if not daily safety meetings
  • Coordinate safety training for all Hoffmann employees
  • Maintain safety training records and documents
  • Facilitate the purchase of all necessary safety equipment

Physical Demands / Working Conditions:

  • Travel to jobsites required
  • Working with jumpform crews to know every aspect of daily work procedures
  • Attend office Project Management meetings to incorporate safety procedures for each jobsite with customer safety procedures if different

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor Degree in Safety and Health Management or 3-5 years in Construction experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong mechanical skills

Hoffmann Superintendent

Primary Purpose:

  • Responsible for the start to finish completion of Hoffmann Projects.
  • Coordinate with on site vendors and subcontractors.
  • Communicate with Client and Hoffmann office personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reports to and corresponds daily with Project Manager
  • Leadership skills / holds crew members accountable
  • Good communication skills with subcontractors and vendors
  • Plans weekly job schedule up to 2 weeks out / weekly tool box meetings
  • Maintains a safe work environment / clean job site
  • Can assist in onsite training of new crew members if necessary
  • Capable of overseeing multiple crews on jobsite
  • Responsible for weekly time sheets

Physical Demands:

  • Lift and carry between 50 and 100 pounds of material
  • Climb up and down ladders / up to 200’
  • Work in outdoor environment / industrial conditions
  • Day to day construction positions of kneeling, bending, standing and walking

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Good Communication skills
  • Skilled at reading complex Blue Prints
  • Good Math skills
  • Have high aptitude in mechanical skills / electrical hookups

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
